A word from our sponsors:

FF2 is still popular!

Hey everyone, it looks like FF2 still gets a number of visitors every month a year after it was started. My previous post mentioned that the reason I had stopped producing FF2 episodes was because I had something else in the works. Well, that was no joke, so let me tell you a bit about what this project, which is now almost a year’s worth of development is all about.

Its called MirthKit, and in one sentence, its “an online arcade where everyone’s creativity comes together.” Does that pique your interest? It should, because its exactly what that sentence describes.

From the website that will be online shortly…

MirthKit is a downloadable application that brings high quality games to your fingertips. All games are free, and you have the option of buying expansions that add to a game’s experience. You can use MirthKit on almost all home computers, even if they are running Mac OS X or Linux. Also, if you are tech-savy, you are free to look at the inner-workings of any MirthKit game and even make modifications to them.

Placeholder PictureMirthKit is more than just an arcade though, it’s also all about giving the people who make games more freedom. That’s why MirthKit’s operator, Curved Infinity Games, passes on 83% of any sales to the independent developers who actually make the games. Compare that to games made for console systems, where the creative minds responsible for making games get less than 15% of a sale.

MirthKit is also designed to be easier to develop with than anything around; anyone with basic programming knowledge can make a game. It costs nothing to develop a game with MirthKit, so it’s also more accessible than any alternative. The opportunity to publish a game on MirthKit’s online arcade is available to anyone who makes a game using MirthKit; the game only needs to pass a PG rating and a usability screening.

… So, look for MirthKit some time early next year — the first game in its release will look a lot like FF2. :)
