Finity Flight II: Kingdoms of Heaven Preview

Well, tomorrow is the big day; Kingdoms of Heaven, previously known as Side-Story I, will be released. What is there to look forward to? A lot! The entire object managment system was overhauled so now the game can handle many thousands of units. In addition, new effects have been added so lights look even more spectacular. However, the grand finally you can hear. That is, sound and music have been added! — Continue for a screenshot.

libcig-a 1.1 Released

I’ve made some major updates to libcig-a, the library behind FF2. These including the addition of a gui system and key binding system. Both are very easy to use, and I included a sample application showing their use. The full article has screenshots of all of the demos.

Story Bit: The Great Collapse of Europe

The main storyline of Finity Flight II begins in 2092, 40 years after the end of the slow collapse of the social structure and economy of most of Western Europe known as The Great Collapse. Sociologists and economists have pointed the blame for the collapse to a wide range of factors including the loss of crude oil supply in the 2010s, global warming, the rise of electronic tribalism, electronic demotivation, and cultural injection from other parts of the world.

Update: Windows Issue and Arrow Keys

Episodes I-III have been changed:

  • Fixed the Windows issue related to the error “This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem,” or similar.
  • Players with non-english keyboards will now have an easier time playing. Controls are now bound to the arrow keys.
